The Art of Crash Landing by Melissa DeCarlo

art of crash landingThe Art of Crash Landing, by Melissa DeCarloMattie Wallace isn’t an easy character to warm up to.  She lies, makes questionable choices and doesn’t treat people very well.  During a low point, one of what seems like a series of many self imposed crisis, she hears about an inheritance from a grandmother that she didn’t know.  She hares off chasing the dream of an inheritance to find an estate that is barely going to cover its own debts, a sexy minister, old family tangles, and some unexpected friendships and discoveries about herself.  The tone of the story was perfectly conveyed by the audio-book narrator and was a really enjoyable book to listen to.  The plot seemed a little contrived here and there, but the quirky characters and their development were fun to follow.
