Enjoy a wonderful holiday season treat at the annual Book and Author Luncheon on December 8th from noon until 2:30 pm at The American Hotel on Main Street in Sag Harbor. Sponsored by the Friends of the John Jermain Memorial Library, the luncheon will feature Chris Knopf, multi-award winning mystery writer and marketing/communications executive, and Christina Haag, author and film, theater and television actress.

Chris Knopf’s recently released acclaimed book, Cries of the Lost, is a sequel to Dead Anyway published in 2012. The latter is a taut tale of a man investigating his own murder. It won the Nero Award for the best American mystery written in the tradition of Rex Stout’s Nero Wolfe stories among a list of other prestigious mystery book honors. His other books, include The Last Refuge, Two Time and Head Wounds, the popular Sam Aquillo Hamptons mysteries. They chronicle the  misadventures of an ex-boxer and former corporate executive working as a carpenter and living year-round in Southampton. Chris spends weekends at his Southampton home and continues to work at his advertising agency, Mintz and Hoke during the week.

Christina Haag is the author of the New York Times bestselling memoir, Come to the Edge. The book is a sensitive, haunting evocation of her long friendship and five-year love affair with John Kennedy, Jr. It was written while she lived in Montauk and Sag Harbor. Her writing has been published in the Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, and other publications. and will be included in The Brown Reader: 50 Writers Remember College Hill. She received the Dramalogue Award for Outstanding Actress and continues to work as an actress most recently on Law and Order: SVU. Christina lives in New York City and Los Angeles and has been coming to the Hamptons since childhood. She is currently working on a novel.

The John Jermain Memorial Library is the public library in Sag Harbor, NY. Founded in 1910, the library building and initial collection was a gift from Margaret Olivia Slocum Sage to the people of Sag Harbor. From June 2011 to July 2013 the library will be located at 34 W. Water St., in Sag Harbor, while our historic building is renovated and expanded.
